The Interior Ministry of Ukraine asks citizens not to listen to politicians calling on to participate in illegal protest actions and warns about personal responsibility for participation in such measures.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, deputy Interior Minister Oleksander Savchenko claimed this to journalists on Tuesday.

“Yesterday I personally saw several press conferences, of, let’s say, high officials from local power bodies, who almost openly called on population to certain radical measures, even to group violations of public order”, O.Savchenko said without specifying which exactly calls he meant.

The deputy Minister just noted that he “did not like that very much”, and surmised that “we may make allowance for lack of experience – those [who called on to public disorders - UNIAN] are, as a rule very young and probably do not understand what they say”, he said.

“But citizens should understand that calls made even by higher officials do not lift responsibility, and those who will give in to such calls to blockade something, to storm…  there is a number of articles in the Criminal Code of Ukraine stipulating an imprisonment from six months to twelve years”, O.Savchenko stressed.

“That is why we will address citizens so that certain radical forces could not disorientate them”, O.Savchenko summed up.
