Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn believes that the main positive result of forming the coalition is a working parliament.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this in parliament on Wednesday answering to critical statements from Party of Regions faction representatives concerning the coalition.

V.Lytvyn noted it was “absolutely bad” that the parliament had not been working since the year 2006.

According to him, today the Verkhovna Rada has started to work, and “it’s good”. “We have caught up the falling country which all of us are responsible for”, V.Lytvyn stressed.

He called on representatives of the Party of Regions’ faction “not to lose their face”. V.Lytvyn pointed out that today it’s unreasonable to assess results of the coalition’s work in parliament because only three days have passed since it was created.

He called on “not to harp on the topic of coalition”. According to him, “we need a working Verkhovna Rada and let’s work because the country is falling”.

“Please, stop whimpering, and let’s work together”, the Speaker said addressing the Party of Regions faction.
