Poroshenko meets with Turkish Foreign Minister

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu, according to the president's press service.

Poroshenko and Cavusoglu discussed the agenda of the next session of the High Level Strategic Council between Ukraine and Turkey planned to be held under the chairmanship of the two heads of state in spring 2017, the press service reported.

They also stressed that it was a solid basis for the further development of strategic partnership. During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of early completion of negotiations on the Free Trade Area Agreement between Ukraine and Turkey.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs assured that Turkey would keep its unwavering position in support of Ukraine's territorial integrity, including the non-recognition of the illegal occupation of Crimea.
