The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not pass the draft law “On Introducing Amendments into the Agreement on the Conservation of Populations of European Bats”.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, 173 MPs out of 409, registered in the chamber, voted for this.Communist Party faction MP Serhiy Hordiyenko called strange the Presidential Secretariat’s choice of draft laws, which they mark as urgent.He stressed that “bats are not guilty”, but such an approach is “a diagnosis for authorities, a diagnosis for the Presidential Administration”.
According to S.Hordiyenko, “today, when the whole Ukraine is shivering with cold, and when Ukraine faces the challenges, it’s warm and bees are flying in the Presidential Secretariat”, and, “considering this atmosphere, they have to time protect bats”.
