Ex-President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, former Security Service chief Leonid Derkach, and incumbent Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn refused to provide samples of their voices to European experts, for comparing them with the voices recorded by Kuchma’s ex-bodyguard Mykola Melnychenko in his cabinet. M.Melnychenko gave the recordings to experts within frames of carrying out the investigation into the murder of journalist Georgiy Gondadze.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the ex-bodyguard claimed this to a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

“Kuchma, Derkach, and Lytvyn refused to provide samples of their voices, for experts could compare them”, M.Melnychenko said, adding that the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s General Office also asked them about that.

At the same time, M.Melnychenko expressed a hope that the expertise of his clandestine recordings will be completed in the nearest future, and PGO will be able to bring criminal cases on facts of rigging presidential elections and referendums and bribery of lawmakers.
