After Tymoshenko’s speech

Members of the Party of Regions faction blocked the Verkhovna Rada rostrum.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, they blocked the rostrum after Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko delivered her speech and lawmakers were invited to register for questions. However, the Rada system registered only MPs from OU-PSD and BYuT factions.

Prime Minister MPs became indignant and demanded to repeat the registration for questions.

Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn put this issue for voting, however, the Party of Regions’ move was supported by only 185 lawmakers.

Immediately after the voting, the Party of Regions faction blocked the rostrum.

BYuT faction lawmakers tried to lift the blockade and came to blows.

To solve the problem, Verkhovna Rada Speaker V.Lytvyn put the issue for voting once again. This time, it was supported by 362 MPs. After that, the parliament’s rostrum was unblocked.
