According to the Agrarian Ministry of Ukraine, sunflower was sown on an area of 3,487 hectares as of May 4 – this is 65% of the projected 5,390 ha (official data), UkrAgroConsult reports. 

The lag behind last year exceeds 3%: 3,566 ha of sunflower was sown as of this same date in 2016.

The lag behind last year has reduced to 28% over the recent days. Soya plantings already totaled 882,000 ha on this same date in 2016.
