Klimkin discusses with Trump possibility for U.S. to join Normandy format

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has discussed with U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President Michael Pence the possibility of involving the U.S. in the "Normandy format" of negotiations on settling the situation in Donbas and counteracting Russian aggression, speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Mariana Betsa told UNIAN. "Of course, the question was discussed of attracting the United States to the Normandy format, to the settlement of the situation in Donbas and counteracting Russian aggression," she said.

"I cannot elaborate because I was not there, and the delegation has not arrived yet," Betsa added.

MFA Ukraine tells of Klimkin meeting with U.S. top officialsAs UNIAN reported earlier, President of the United States Donald Trump on Wednesday received Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin at the White House.

This meeting was preceded by talks between Minister Klimkin and U.S. Vice President Michael Pence. The interlocutors discussed in detail a situation in Donbas.
