Says he has arguments

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko believes he will manage to persuade Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to urgently revise the state budget for the year 2009.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko said this at a meeting with G-7 Ambassadors on Thursday.

Victor Yushchenko pointed out a revision of the state budget is necessary to resume cooperation with the International Monetary Fund.

Victor Yushchenko stressed he will do his best so that amendments to the state budget and the anti-crisis be passed as soon as possible. He said to ambassadors that presently the Prime Minister believes that it is unreasonable to revise the state budget in the first half-year.

“It is an inadequate and dead-end position, which must be revised. I believe I have arguments to persuade the government”, the President emphasized.

He also said he has a feeling that the Ukrainian authorities will soon find understanding concerning all important issues and will resume the collaboration with IMF.
