Party of Regions not to sign official letter to IMF – Yanukovych
Tranche from IMF will worsen life of Ukrainians?
The Party of Regions will not sign any official letter to the leadership of the International Monetary Fund on resuming collaboration.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Party of Regions leader Victor Yanukovych noted: “The opposition will not sign any letter to IMF, as we will never allow worsening the life of Ukrainian citizens for the sake of foreign money”.
The Party of Regions notes that, for the sake of receiving a regular tranche from IMF, “the authorites are ready to sign guarantees” that will worsen the life of Ukrainian citizens. In particular, according to the information of the party, the authorities agree to rise the pension age of Ukrainians every year. “It means that, considering the average life interval in Ukraine, many our compatriots will not see pensions at all”, the Party of Regions stressed.
Besides, according to the information of the Party of Regions, authorities are ready to increase natural gas prices for population to the world level. “We are also categorically opposed to canceling the facilitated system of taxation for small and middle-scale business, while authorities promise it in their letter to IMF”, the Party of Regions claims.
The opposition also demands to immediately revise the state budget of Ukraine.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on February 27, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, Prime Minister and the Verkhovna Rada Speaker agreed to prepare a joint document to the International Monetary Fund.
