Yushchenko calls situation in Kyiv an “absurd theater”
And calls on city authorities to introduce order in capital
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko calls the situation in Kyiv an “absurd theater” and calls on capital authorities to consolidate and introduce order in the city.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, he said this at a session with Kyiv leadership on Wednesday.
Victor Yushchenko stressed that the situation in the capital is complicated both in the economical and social spheres. According to him, the Kyiv budget has not been passed as yet, and social protests “are high” in the city.
Speaking about negative moments, the President mentioned the tariffs policy in the city and a whole range of illegal decisions passed by Kyiv authorities. “All these do not contribute to stability”, the President stressed.
At the same time, he noted that Kyiv is a special city, as it is a financial, economical, cultural center of the state, and other regions take example from Kyiv.
According to the President, a whole range of inconsequent actions of Kyiv authorities and the Kyiv Mayor himself turned into mockeries. Some decisions of the Kyiv City State Administration humiliate city residents, while city authorities organize rallies in their support.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 4, the President is holding a session with the Kyiv leadership to solve pressing problems of the city.
