Defense Minister of Ukraine Yuri Ekhanurov believes that populism and incompetence of some Ukrainian politicians are the main reasons of failure of implementation the state program on transfer of the Armed forces of Ukraine into contract system.
Y. Ekhanurov said this at the forum while speaking with readers of Ukrainska Pravda Internet edition.
“I am sure that the Ukrainian army will transfer to contract base. All necessary conditions are created for this and many things are done in the reforming of structure of the army. But unfortunately, there is no definite answer when it will take place”, said Y. Ekhanurov.
The Defense Minister noted that he believes that it is improper to speak about using of creating the contract army in political purposes.
