We will follow out all the provisions of the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union which progressed the relations between Ukraine and the European Union”, the Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych stated during a joint briefing with Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana, according to the press-office of the Cabinte of Ministers of Ukraine.
Viktor Yanukovych noted that the search for solutions to the present problems in relations between Ukraine and the European Union is under way. First of all, it concerns the dynamic development of economy, free movement of goods, services, and people through borders.
The Prime Minister stressed that our activity aims at solving these problems in the framework of Ukraine’s accedence to the World Trade Organization and providing stable supply and transport of energy carriers to the European Union.
“As regards a new agreement between Ukraine and the EU which will be worked through in the nearest future by two sides, it should outline the way necessary for approaching our strategic goal – Ukraine’s joining the EU. And we realize that in many directions this way will depend on Ukraine”, the Head of Ukrainian Government stated.
In his turn, the Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union said that his meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine was very productive. “The relations between the EU and Ukraine are very reliable. And we will continue on the same lines”, Javier Solana said.
