Poroshenko, Merkel united on need to continue active contacts in Normandy format
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a phone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel July 5, the Ukrainian presidential administration’s press service reported.
“Petro Poroshenko and Angela Merkel stressed the need for continuing active contacts in the Normandy format with a view to return Russia to the logic of the Minsk agreements’ implementation,” reads the report

Angela Merkel also thanked the Ukrainian President for the participation in the European ceremony of farewell to former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl in Strasbourg.
