Roman Sushchenko gets to see wife, daughter

Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko, earlier arrested in Russia on trumped-up espionage charges, on August 21 was allowed to meet with his wife and daughter, according to his lawyer Mark Feygin.

"Today my client, Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko, was visited by his wife and daughter in Lefortovo [detention center in Moscow]," Feygin wrote on Facebook.

Ukraine MFA demands from Russia to cease political persecution of journalists Sushchenko, SemenaAs UNIAN reported earlier, the Russian Federal Security Service on September 30 detained in Moscow an Ukrinform correspondent, Roman Sushchenko, labeling him a "Ukrainian intelligence operative" who allegedly "deliberately collected classified information on activities of the armed forces and the national guard of the Russian Federation." Sushchenko was officially charged with espionage. On June 16, he was assigned a psychiatric examination.

Moscow court extends Sushchenko's arrest for another 3 mthsOn June 27, Moscow's Lefortovo district court extended the arrest of Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko for another three months, until September 30.
