First President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk believes that the collaboration of Victor Medvedchuk with the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko in the sphere of preparing amendments to the Constitution does not indicate that he is politically approaching the bloc.
He said this in an interview with Delo daily.
L.Kravchuk noted that V.Medvedchuk is a specialist in the sphere of constitutional problems and is helping BYuT in their work over draft amendments to the Constitution. “I think the main idea of his [draft Constitution] is to introduce a single power center in the country. Everything must be ruled by either a President or a Prime Minister, because, until they rule together, there will not be any order in the country. I think, a parliamentary coalition and a government could become such a center”, the first President noted.
Speaking about perspectives of introducing amendments into the Constitution, he noted that if BYuT and the Party of Regions do not come to an agreement, no amendments will be introduced in this political season.
