The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine created an ad hoc commission to probe into facts of corruption and misuse of office in the Interior Ministry of Ukraine.

      According to an UNIAN correspondent, 235 out of 435 lawmakers, registered in the chamber of parliament, voted for decree “On creating an ad hoc commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for issues of probing into facts of corruption and misuse of office, committed by officials of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine, and listed in “Other Police” article of “2000” newspaper of 8 September 2006”.

      The decree proposes the Cabinet of Ministers to suspend Yuri Lutsenko from the post of the Interior Minister for the period of work of the commission.

      The commission is about to work for two months.

      Lawmaker Volodymyr Sivkovych was elected as chairman of the commission.
