The Ukrainian Presidential Secretariat will appeal against the ruling of the District Administrative Court of Kyiv, which declared illegal the President’s decree on dismissal of Svyatoslav Piskun from the post of Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Ruslan Kyrylyuk, head of the lawyers service for representing President’s interests in court, said this, according to Kommersant #72(893) dated April 27, 2009.

“It was a regular political decision of the district administrative court. Of course, we will appeal against it”, he said.

In his turn, Justice Minister of Ukraine Mykola Onyshchuk stressed he would not hurry to make conclusions concerning the legal consequences of the court’s ruling on Piskun, because it was a ruling of the court of a first instance.
