The law joins into force since the day of its publication

The Verkhovna Rada has banned gambling business in Ukraine.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, 340 out of 442 MPs, registered in the session hall, voted for the respective law.

The law bans not only the gambling business, but also participation in gambling. At the same time, organization and carrying out of lotteries, creative and sport contests, billiard, and other games, which are carried out without awarding prizes to its participants, were not banned.

In line with the law, business objects, which organize and carry out gambling in Ukraine, are punished with a fine at 8 thousand minimum wages, with confiscation of gambling equipment.

The law joins into force since the day of its publication.
