President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has once again called on the Verkhovna Rada to introduce amendments, which he proposed, into the Constitution of Ukraine.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the President said this in Vinnytsya at a meeting with the local officialdom on Tuesday.

Victor Yushchenko stressed that a moral debt of everybody, including the Verkhovna Rada, is to initiate amendments into the Constitution, which would harmonize the power system in Ukraine and would provide a political stability in the state.

At the same time, Victor Yushchenko revealed details of the draft constitutional amendments, which he had submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. He stressed the necessity to make regions more independent, to introduce a two-chamber parliament, to cancel lawmakers immunity, and to transfer to open electoral lists.
