Anatoliy Hrytsneko, Our Ukraine – People’s Self Defense faction member and head of the parliamentary committee for national security and defense, forecasts that Defense Minister of Ukraine Yuri Yekhanurov will be dismissed in the nearest future.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, he said this to journalists on Thursday.
“My forecast – the Minister will be sacked”, A.Hrytsenko said.
According to him, the Verkhovna Rada will have enough votes to do that. “I know that presently the BYuT has been preparing a new draft resolution, basing on the results of an unbiased investigation by the Supervision and Revision Department and other documents. I believe that this document will probably be passed today or tomorrow”, the lawmaker noted,
According to him, the national security and defense committee has many claims to Yuri Yekhanurov, in particular, concerning the non-fulfillment of the law on number of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 2, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko turned to President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko with a request to dismiss Defense Minister Yuri Yekhanurov due to corruption.
