A number of Ukrainian political scientists believe that should Defense Minister Yuri Yekhanurov and Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Vasyunyk resign, the government may lose its legitimacy.

Ihor Zhdanov, head of Open Policy analytical center, claimed this to a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.

“Today we have two big steps towards the resignation of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Defense Minister, but the more acting Ministers there are in the government, the less legitimacy it will have”, he said, adding that, in his opinion, these resignations will not take place.

In his turn, Yuri Yakymenko, director of political and legal programs at Razumkov Center, noted that, as of today, any the Ministers may resign, but nobody may be appointed. “That is why we risk to receive the Cabinet of Ministers without Ministers”, he noted.
