"According to the Egyptian side, the system of issuing electronic visas for entering Egypt was launched on December 3 as an alternative to visas that can also be purchased at checkpoints across Egypt's state border," the department wrote on Facebook.

It is noted that to get a visa, Ukrainians planning a trip to Egypt for tourist or business purposes, as well as for the purpose of transit through that country's territory, can apply online at www.egyptvisa.com within 90 days prior to the date of entry.

The department adds that after filling in the necessary forms and online payment of the consular fee (US$25), the applicant receives a copy of the e-visa via e-mail.

The document must be printed and presented to a border control officer upon arrival in Egypt.

It is also specified that separate applications are submitted for issuing an electronic visa for children with a separate passport. Applying for an e-visa at least seven days before the planned trip is recommended.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Ukrainians take this information into account when planning trips to Egypt.
