Verkhovna Rada dismissed Yekhanurov as Defense Minister of Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has dismissed Yuri Yekhanurov as Defense Minister of Ukraine.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, 363 lawmakers out of 398, registered in the chamber, have voted for that.

18 MPs voted against the decision.

In particular, the dismissal of Yuri Yekhanurov has been supported by: 161 MPs from the Party of Regions, 152 – ByuT, 4 – OU-PSD, 27 – CPU, and 19 – Lytvyn’s Bloc.

Yuri Yekhanurov was dismissed due to numerous violations of the current legislation, in particular, for illegal transactions with special equipment, illegal creation of the Military-Medical Department at the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, illegal delegation of authorities to advisory bodies within the structure of the Defense Ministry, etc..
