The Party of Regions at its session on Tuesday appointed chiefs of the presidential electoral campaign.
According to Delo daily (#90 (83) of June 10, 2009), referring to Party of Regions MP Anna Herman, party leader Victor Yanukovych proposed to appoint Mykola Azarov as head of the electoral campaign and chief of the electoral HQ.
“Presidium members supported the candidacy”, A.Herman noted.
The same session of the Party of Regions appointed deputy heads of the electoral campaign. In particular, Borys Kolesnikov will be responsible for creative tasks and ideology, he will also supervise electoral headquarters in the eastern regions of Ukraine.
Parliament’s top vice-speaker Oleksander Lavrynovych to be busy with legal issues within frames of the campaign.
Serhiy Lyovochkin, representative of the so-called “Firtash group”, will accompany presidential contender Victor Yanukovych in his trips.
MP Anna Herman will supervise public relations and communication with mass media, and Volodymyr Rybak will be busy with organizational issues.
