The Pecherskiy district court of Kyiv declared that Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko is guilty of committing two crimes.
UNIAN was told about this by lawyer Yuri Bergelson, who represents Lutsenko’s interests in court.
According to his information, this decision was declared today by Pecherskiy court judge Inna Otrosh after considering two protocols of the Prosecutor’s General Office, which, in particular, read that Yuri Lutsenko illegally conferred ranks on policemen, and presented weapons to two employees of the Interior Ministry.
In addition, the court declared illegal two decrees of the Ukrainian President on the fact that the Interior Minister is not a state official, and, in such a way, the lawyer added, the court declared that the Interior Minister is a state official, and is subject to the law of Ukraine on corruption, and must be punished if he commits actions, which can be assessed as corruption in line with this law.
At the same time, the lawyer stressed that the court did not find any selfish motives in the actions of Yuri Lutsenko.
The court ruling cannot be appealed, but may be cancelled by a judge of the Appeal Court.
The lawyer disclosed that the court ruled to fine the Interior Minister for 340 hryvnias.
