"The EU supports the full implementation of the Minsk agreements as the basis for a peaceful and sustainable resolution of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. In this context, we take note of the adoption in the second reading on 18 January of the draft law ‘On reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories’,” the spokesperson said.

It was stated that the law “relates to the internal organisation of Ukraine's civilian and military structures in the context of the conflict in eastern Ukraine and with a view to the future re-integration of areas not currently under the control of the Ukrainian government”.

“We expect the ongoing diplomatic efforts on the resolution of the conflict, notably in the Normandy 4 format and the Trilateral Contact Group, to continue on the basis of the implementation of all relevant commitments,” the commentary reads.
