Only more strict legislative restriction for sale of beer and low-alcohol spirits can solve a problem of teenager alcoholism in Ukraine. Lawmakers of Ukraine – representatives of BYUT, Party of Regions, Our Ukraine – People’s Self Defense and Lytvyn’s Bloc expressed this opinion in the comments to UNIAN.
Particularly the lawmakers believe that it is necessary to support the draft law on introducing amendments into the Law of Ukraine “On State regulation of production and turnover of ethyl alcohol, cognac and fruit alcohol, spirits and tobacco goods” (on restriction of consumption and sale of low-alcohol spirits) № 1171 from 11.12.2007 submitted by Mykola Tomenko, Natalia Korolevskaya and Yevgen Suslov, the draft law is prepared for consideration in the second reading. This draft law stipulates restriction for consumption and sale of low-alcohol spirit, beer, in order to improve the health of nation.
