President can reappoint Tarasyuk
As Ukraine’s Foreign Minister
Secretariat Chief of Staff Viktor Baloha told reporters on Friday the President could re-nominate Borys Tarasyuk, sacked by the Verkhovna Rada, as Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, according to the President`s press-office.
He added that the President is entitled to appoint the country`s foreign minister and could thus choose another candidate.
Mr. Baloha said the procedure to dismiss ministers contained a number of contradictions and should be officially interpreted by the Constitutional Court.
“We will act in accordance with law. Today there can be many comments but we have the decision of the Verkhovna Rada to sack Borys Tarasyuk and so the President will comply with this decision. However, we will wait for the Constitutional Court to say if this decision is constitutional," he said.
