Guards that he was not on the list

The guards in the government building did not let in Foreign Minister Boris Tarasyuk on Wednesday. They explained that he was not on the list of those, who were invited to attend the meeting of the cabinet of ministers, according to Itar-Tass.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine removed Tarasyuk from the post of foreign minister on December 1 on the suggestion of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych. On December 5 Tarasyuk said that the Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv had suspended the effect of the parliamentary resolution on his dismissal. On the same day President Viktor Yushchenko signed the decree, under which Tarasyuk continues to discharge the duties of foreign minister. Under the Constitution, it is the president who nominates a candidate to the post of foreign minister.

Yanukovych described Tarasyuk as “an irresponsible person” for his attempt to appeal against the resolution of the Supreme Rada on his dismissal. “I think when a parliament adopts such a resolution, it is irresponsible to look for ways to appeal against it. The resolution was adopted by the Supreme Rada, and this shows once again that Tarasyuk is an irresponsible person,” Yanukovich told journalists in Washington, where he is staying on a visit.
