Oleksandr Shlapak, Head of the Secretariat Office for Social and Economic Development, told reporters on Wednesday MPs had failed to consider a number of important proposals from the President when adopting next year’s budget, according to the President`s press-office.

The minimal wage will grow by only 12.5% in 2007 (40% in 2005; 20% in 2006), he said. There are other things that worry the President, such as insufficient funding of the Armed Forces, government interference in the economy and attempts to dodge paying VAT when importing goods.
