The session of the Conciliatory Council of the leaders of the factions did not take place because of refusal of the representatives of the BYUT and Party of Regions to take part in it.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, at 10.00 am Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn invited to his room the leaders of the factions and mass media representatives for Conciliatory Council. Authorized representatives of the Party of Regions and the BYUT did not come to the session. In presence of journalists the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada called by phone to first Vice Speaker of the parliament Oleksandr Lavrynovych and asked him to explain their absence.  After the talk V. Lytvyn said to journalists that according to the words of O. Lavrynovych, the BYUT and Party of Regions “are negotiating for two now” and presence of journalists at the Conciliatory Council interferes them.

V. Lytvyn also said that the session of the Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada had to take place yesterday at 14. 30 pm but no representative from the Party of Regions came to the session. “The conclusion is obvious – nobody needs a law”, said the Speaker.
