Ukrainian banks report losses of UAH 18.2 billion

Ukrainian banks ended January-October, 2009 with losses of UAH 18.2 billion.

It is said in the report, publicized at the web site of the National Bank of Ukraine.

According to the report of the NBU, incomes of banks for the reported period amounted to UAH 119.8 billion, including interest income – UAH 101.7 billion and commission income – UAH 13.6 billion.

Expenses of banks reached UAH 138 billion, including interest expenses- UAH 56 billion, reserves – UAH 51.7 billion and commission expenses – UAH 2.5 billion.

As of November 1, equity of banks made up UAH 126.9 billion, or 14.5% of liabilities.

Liabilities of banks as of November 1, 2009 made up UAH 748.7 billion.
