President defends Ohryzko, Korol

Ukrainian lawmakers have no reasons to question professional skills of Volodymyr Ohryzko and Viktor Korol, Victor Yushchenko said Thursday after laying a wreath at the Afghan War Monument in Kyiv, according to the President`s press-office.

The President reiterated that Ohryzko, who he had proposed for foreign minister, and Korol, nominated to head the Security Service, were professionals with sufficient education and relevant experience.

“There are no spots in their biographies that could prompt any deputy to doubt the transparency of the presidential nominations,” he said.

Mr. Yushchenko also said he had held talks with the parliamentary majority before nominating these candidates. He added that they had compromised then.
