Foreign Minister of Ukraine Konstyantyn Hryshchenko discussed with Philip H. Gordon, Assistant Secretary for Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and Alexander Verbshow, U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense and International Affairs an issue concerning preparation of the visit of President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych to Washington.

The press service of the Foreign Ministry disclosed to UNIAN that the meetings of K. Hryshchenko with representatives of American government took place yesterday within the frameworks of Brussels forum.

In particular, during the meetings the sides discussed topical issues of the bilateral Ukrainian-American relations, including preparation of the visit of President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych to the USA in order to take part in the Nuclear Safety Summit, which will take place on April 12-13 in Washington.

It was also confirmed a readiness of Ukraine and USA to continue development of the bilateral relations in accordance with Strategic Partnership Charter and it was also expressed an interest in broadening of the trade-economics cooperation between two countries.
