President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych announced Monday, April 12, as Mourning Day in Ukraine because of the plane crash near Smolensk, where President of Poland Lech Kaczynski and group of Polish politicians, public figures and military men perished.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, V. Yanukovych said this on Sunday while visiting the Embassy of Poland to Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine honoured a memory of those who perished in the plane crash. He brought flowers to the Embassy and wrote an entry to a book of condolences.
