The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has rejected the candidacy of Volodymyr Ohryzko for the post of the Foreign Minister of Ukraine.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, 195 lawmakers (while 226 are necessary to adopt a decision - UNIAN) voted for him out of 435 lawmakers present in the chamber.
The factions of the Party of Regions and CPU did not vote for V.Ohryzko.
Lawmakers of BYuT and Our Ukraine factions left the chamber of parliament as a sign of protest against turning down Ohryzko’s candidacy for the post of the Foreign Minister of Ukraine.
As UNIAN reported earlier, V.Ohryzko has been fulfilling duties of the Foreign Minister of Ukraine since 30 January.
