People’s Union Our Ukraine party council member Yuri Yekhanurov claims that the main pretenders for the post of the party chairman are incumbent PUOU chief and President’s Chief of Staff Victor Baloha, Our Ukraine faction leader Viacheslav Kyrylenko, and President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, he disclosed this to journalists after a session of the PUOU Presidium, which took place in the Presidential Secretariat today.
According to Yu.Yekhanurov, it was a planned sitting, and focused at the issues that will be put for consideration of the party convention on 31 March. One of this issues deals with electing the party leader.
As UNIAN reported earlier, recently ex-Minister of Justice and President’s representative to the parliament Roman Zvarych claimed that the Constitution forbids the President to head a party.
