The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) is investigating into the information about threats to life of BYuT leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, SBU top deputy chief, acting SBU chief Valentyn Nalyvaychenko, claimed this to a press conference in Kyiv today.

“There is an information about probable threats. This information is being thoroughly investigated”, V.Nalyvaychenko said, adding that the information, received by SBU, is at the stage of inspecting with involving “international partners”. At the same time, V.Nalyvaychenko noted that in line with the legislation, SBU protects lives of people during two years after they were dismissed from high state posts.

“Everything that is stipulated by the legislation will be fulfilled”, V.Nalyvaychenko stressed.

He listed an example that in February of the current year SBU received information about threats to a governor’s life. SBU took measures, arrested a criminal and withdrew from him explosive devices.
