International Press Institute (IPI) called upon President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych to protect freedom of speech in the country and prevent a pressure on Ukrainian mass media.
It is said in an open letter posted at the web site of the organization.
It is said in the text that recent events in Ukraine contradict the statements made by V. Yanukovych earlier.
