President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych will take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of independence of Ukraine on August 23-24.
The press service of the head of the state disclosed to UNIAN that the head of the state will take part in a ceremony of hoisting the national flag of Ukraine at the square in front of the Administration of President (Bankova Street, 11) on August 23, at 10.30 am.
An opening ceremony of home-museum of Taras Shevchenko in Shevchenko National Reserve (Kanev city, the Cherkassy Oblast) will take place at 12.30 pm with participation of the President of Ukraine.
The same day the President of Ukraine will take part in a state reception on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of independence of Ukraine. The measure will take place in the Ukrainian House (Khreshchatyk Street, 2) at 16.00 pm.
On August 24, at 9.00 am V. Yanukovych will take part in Prayer for Ukraine in Saint Uspenskaya Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
The wreath-laying ceremony to monuments to Taras Shevchenko and Mykhaylo Hrushevskyi will take place at 9.30 am with participation of the President of Ukraine.
The head of the state will also take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of independence of Ukraine at Maydan Nezhalezhnosti in Kyiv. The measure will start at 10.00 am.
The press service of the President of Ukraine and the Main Department on Communications carry out an accreditation for the solemn measures on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of independence of Ukraine with participation of V. Yanukovych.
