SBU pledges to defend normal operation of Central Electoral Commission
And the constitutional order
The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) will undertake all the necessary measures to guarantee the normal operation of the Central Electoral Commission and other electoral commissions.
Acting SBU chief Valentyn Nalyvaychenko claimed this to journalists after a session at President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko with law-enforcement agencies chiefs.
He stressed that the main attention of all SBU subdivisions will be focused on guaranteeing operation of all power agencies, stipulated by the Constitution.
V.Nalyvaychenko stressed that any attempts to change the status, the number of CEC members, or attempts to influence its work, will be assessed “as an obstacle and an attempt on the constitutional order of the state”.
