Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych considers necessary to attract trustworthy international mediators to conflict regulation in Ukraine. The Head of Government told a press-conference for domestic and foreign mass media, according to the government’s press-office.
In particular, the Prime Minister made a request to Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Alfred Gusenbauer to help in overcoming political crisis in Ukraine inasmuch as, according to Viktor Yanukovych, Austria is known as a neutral democratic state with stable legal traditions and has well-earned authority and respect over the world. The PM has also asked the leading European lawyers to draw expert conclusions on legal aspect of the conflict political situation in Ukraine guiding by the European legal norms and democratic traditions.
Such a decision has been made by the Prime Minister with the purpose “to exclude escalation of the political conflict in Ukraine and prevent its development into a civil confrontation and the use of force in adjusting conflict and return the situation to the constitutional-legal field”.
At the same time the Prime Minister, answering the journalists’ questions, stated that he is ready to ask the leaders of neighboring countries to help in regulation of the political crisis in Ukraine, in particular, Russia, Poland and others,” Viktor Yanukovych said.
