President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych is convinced that the current Constitution of Ukraine is to be improved, according to the Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych. It is necessary to involve the public in this process. The Head of state said about it at the meeting with the representatives of French political and academic circles in Paris.

Answering the question about a recent decision of the Constitutional Court, the President pointed out that “now Ukraine is in the legal field.”

“Today we want to introduce a mechanism of public discussion of the Constitution and set up the Constitutional Assembly. We have such a proposal. In my opinion, it makes sense to do so,” Viktor Yanukovych said.

The Head of state also noted that he would advocate strengthening of local government in Ukraine. “As President I will introduce a social government reform via alterations to the Constitution,” Viktor Yanukovych said.
