It is unacceptable to pressure the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Victor Yushchenko said on Tuesday in an interview with the Financial Times, Reuters, Bloomberg, AFP, Associated Press and the BBC, according to the President`s press-office.

“We were all witnesses to how the chairman of the Constitutional Court wanted to resign or heard five judges of the Constitutional Court today saying they are coming under too much pressure. These facts show that the situation in the Constitutional Court is very tense,” he said.

The President also insisted that politicians must not appeal to the Constitutional Court to consider political cases.

“Last week, I asked the chairman of the Constitutional Court whether the president or his representatives exerted pressure on him and his court, and he answered unambiguously ‘No.’ I am pleased to note this.”
