Prime Minister Mykola Azarov entrusted the Minister of Interior and Minister of Transport to prepare a program of comprehensive measures to prevent accidents at railway crossings, according to the Department of Information and Communications of the Secretariat of the CMU. He gave such instruction opening the Government`s session.
"I instruct the Interior Minister and the Minister of Transport and Communications to develop a program of prevention, which would include construction of crossings, including automatic barriers where necessary to establish security. We should not make savings on lives"- the Head of the Government said.
According to Mykola Azarov, the emergency situation that occurred in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a collision of train and a bus on the crossing, and other tragic events at the crossings not being protected, require the Government to accept measures to minimize threats in such objects.
In addition, as the Head of the Government noted it is necessary to raise the requirements for physical, psychological state of the drivers involved in passenger transportation.
