Ukraine and Lithuania have agreed that Lithuania will provide practical assistance to our country in the area of European integration, President Yanukovych said in Vilnius, according to the Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych.

"Lithuania’s experience would be very useful for Ukraine today", he said.

Certainly, he said, European integration is not simple. "We must meet the rules, which are in Europe. And we have a lot of ‘homework’ to do,” Viktor Yanukovych said, adding that reaching these goals is not possible without reforms and consolidation of the government pursuing them and fulfilling Ukraine’s commitment to the EU.

"Today, Ukraine is ready to integrate into the EU as far, as it is suitable for Europe," Viktor Yanukovych said.

Speaking about cooperation with Lithuania in this direction, he said: "We agreed that Lithuania will not only support Ukraine, but will also provide practical assistance to our institutions and officials dealing with these issues which is advice in elaboration of quality, effective mechanisms that contribute to Ukraine`s European integration.
