The military delegation of the EU headed by General Hakan Syren, the chairman of the European Union Military Committee (EUMC) will arrive in Ukraine on October 20.
The press service of the Department on Press and Information of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine disclosed to UNIAN that an official meeting ceremony of high guest, meeting of General Hakan Syren with chairman of the General Headquarters - Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Grygoriy Pedchenko and the bilateral negotiations will take place on October 21, within the framework of the visit.
During the negotiations the sides are about to discuss key issues and future perspectives of cooperation between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the European Union within the framework of the Common Security and Defense Policy.
Colonel General Grygoriy Pedchenko will inform General Hakan Syren about condition and perspectives of reforming of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at a present stage.
After the negotiations it is planned that General Hakan Syren will meet with Defense Minister of Ukraine Mykhaylo Yezhel.
It is also planned that the chairman of the European Union Military Committee with leaders of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on National Security and Defense Issues and Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
On October 22 representatives of the EU Military Delegation will stay in Sevastopol where the meeting of chairman of the European Union Military Committee with headquarters of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will take place.
