Ukraine will make every effort to get the right to host 2022 Winter Olympics in the Carpathians, President Viktor Yanukovych said in an interview during his today’s visit to the Ivano-Frankivsk region, according to the Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych.
Certainly, he said, this question is very difficult – we have many competitors, and have much to do in order to win the right to host the Olympics. "I suggest that we create a body, which would work on the question already now," he said.
Viktor Yanukovych also suggested that the working group was chaired by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov.
According to Viktor Yanukovych, representatives of all the Carpathian regions of Ukraine should be included in this working group.
President Yanukovych also stressed that Ukraine must consistently work on building sports and tourist infrastructure to achieve this goal.
