Yanukovych leaves for Japan on official visit today

President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych will pay an official visit to Japan from January 18 up to January 21.
The press service of the head of the state with a reference to head of the Administration of the President Serhiy Lyovochkin disclosed to UNIAN that the aim of the visit is further development and intensification of the bilateral political dialogue at the highest level, broadening of scientific and technical, cultural-humanitarian and trade-economic cooperation.
According to the program of the visit, V. Yanukovych will stay in Tokyo on January 18-19, where he will have an audience with current Emperor of Japan Akihito, will negotiate with Prime Minister of Japan Naoto Kan, will meet with Speaker of House of Representatives of the parliament of Japan and chairman of the House of Councillors of the parliament of Japan.
It is also planned that the President of Ukraine will deliver a speech in the headquarters of Keidanren Japan Business Federation within the framework of the bilateral business forum of leaders of leading corporations of Japan.
It is planned that the President of Ukraine will visit Kyoto and Osaka on January 19-21. V. Yanukovych will hold meetings with local leaders, they will discuss perspective directions of interaction, particularly at the interregional level.
It is also planned that the President of Ukraine will deliver a speech concerning current situation in Ukraine its foreign policy priorities before faculty and students of the one of the leading highest educational institutions of Japan – Kyoto University.
